Committee Descriptions
Kim Plaziak - VP of Curriculum Enrichment

Accelerated Reader - Suzanne Spaulding

The AR program is designed to encourage children to read more and strive to read at higher levels. Quarterly celebrations take place for all the children who reach their goals and a cookout is held for the children who met their goals all year.

Lunch Bunch - Paula Wood

Lunch Bunch is a book club for 4th and 5th grades.  Parents serve as proctors for each of the books selected and meet with students to discuss the books at the end of each scheduled Lunch Bunch meeting. Volunteers support the program by organizing and delivering lunch for the days the lunch bunch meets.

Reflections -

The Reflections program provides K-5 students with an opportunity to express themselves through visual arts, photography, literature, and music.  This is a National PTA program.  Volunteers are needed to encourage student involvement, to help set up displays at school, and deliver entries.

Master of the Arts - Karin Collins

This program is designed to teach students about famous artists.  Volunteers are needed to give brief presentations about a specific artist, show some of his/her work, and do a simple piece of artwork with the class.  Volunteers work directly with the teacher and most presentations already exist for use. This is generally scheduled through the Curriculum Room Reps.

Science Lab - Amy Whittall

Work with teachers to obtain consumables to support the labs.  Curriculum Room Reps schedule parent volunteers to assist teachers in the lab.
