Environmental Education

CWE PTA is excited about Environmental Education this year!!  Students will benefit through hands-on classroom experiences as they learn about the world around them and discover new ways they can directly impact our local and global communities.  We have many exciting ways to be involved in Environmental Education.  We have classroom opportunities for all grade levels, or if that doesn’t work in your schedule, we always need help with our Recycle Brigade!  We have listed below a quick description of our current volunteer needs, but welcome any additional help.  And as always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us krissy@josephaustin.com or a_whittall@mac.com.

Classroom Volunteers:  Do you want to get involved in your child’s classroom?  Do you like working with kids?  Don’t want to do any of the planning or prep work?  Then this is for you!!  Volunteers will be asked to lead a pre-designed environmental lesson plan.  Each lesson will be provided to the volunteer and includes the approved lesson and all required materials.  The volunteer simply needs to lead the lesson in an individual classroom.  We hope to get one volunteer for each classroom, however, we will also need volunteers who are willing to teach in various classrooms.

Date(s) Occurs: Ongoing throughout the year.

Recycle Brigade:  Volunteers will be asked to remove presorted and bagged cans & plastic bottles from the waste area at the school.  The recycled materials can be taken to the Roswell Recycle Center or to the recycling center of your choice.  The pick-up of the recycled materials can occur at times convenient for you, and include after school hours, and even on the weekends.  We would like to have the recycling removed once a week.
