Happy Fall, Cougars. I’d like to start off with a huge THANK YOU to the 574 families who participated in our Cougar Pride Drive. Together, we achieved our goal! We can now proceed with confidence and continue to do what we do best: enrich our school. The first of such programs is happening this month. We are thrilled to roll out a Fall Hands On Science for our kiddos. Stay tuned and keep informed regarding volunteer opportunities to participate in this fun and educational program. Another round of appreciation goes to the 599 class party fee contributions. Though still short of our goal, our room reps have already begun the planning for a fun filled holiday event this December. If you have yet to contribute, please help us attain funds needed for a fabulous Valentine’s or end of the year party as well. I know from experience just how much our kids love and look forward to classroom parties. And in the spirt of all of this gratitude, I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you and best of luck to two of our custodians: Alice and John. Both are retiring after many years of service to our community. Their warm smiles, willingness to help, and hard work to keep our school clean and safe will be remembered.

Students in Grades K through 5 can create original art work based on the above theme in one of the following art categories: • Dance Choreography • Music Composition • Film Production • Photography • Literature • Visual Arts 

At least one family member must be a PTA member (become a member here). Students may submit an entry in any of the six art areas listed and they CAN SUBMIT MULTIPLE ENTRIES IN EACH CATEGORY. Each entry must have a separate entry form. NO 3D entries will be accepted. On the student entry form an artist statement must be completed as it is important for the judging process. We are excited to invite you to join us for a special science activity that is a fun and engaging educational experience with the kids. Each of the students will watch a curriculum-based video and can have the opportunity to observe and/or perform some science experiments in his/her classroom.  Click here to sign up to volunteer!

Please report your volunteer hours for September through the PTA website or by emailing them to volunteercwe@gmail.com. If you do not have a specific date in mind or are lumping all of your September hours together, please add the date Sept 30, 2021 so they are recorded in the correct month.
