Message from the President

Happy New Year, Cougars! I’d especially like to welcome back our families who were virtual last semester. A HUGE thank you to all of our room reps for planning some fun filled winter parties. What a fun way to start off the holiday break. I’d also like to thank the administration and teachers for coming up with creative solutions that allow our programs to continue. Speaking of which, I encourage all families to remain engaged this year. Be it virtual or in person, we are planning several fun-filled events for the remainder of the year. We hope you can all participate in making CWE the special place it is.

-Lisa Rasmussen, PTA President

Shared Dreams Mac N Cheese Drive

November Volunteer of the Month

Congratulations to our VIPS of the month for November, Sachi Sharma! Sachi headed our Art Reflections program. Sachi encouraged our students to share their talents and made sure they were honored with an award ceremony! Thank you Sachi for continuing our school's legacy for great Art Reflections participation!

December Volunteer of the Month

Congratulations to our VIPS of the month for December, Emily Hermes! Emily is our Room Rep Coordinator, and made sure Commonwealth was festively decorated for December (as she has for every month), as well as coordinating fun and amazing winter class parties! Thank you Emily for the many hours of work getting the class parties planned, the party materials separated, and the room parents organized!

Please remember to submit your volunteer hours for the month of December if you haven't already! You can do this either by logging into the PTA website and clicking on Volunteer-->Record Volunteer Hours, or you can email our VIPS Coordinator, Shelley Rixner, directly at volunteercwe@gmail.com. Volunteer hours include anything you have done for the school not on campus, like preparing materials for door decorating, preparing materials for class parties, helping teachers with projects they need done off campus, etc. We really appreciate our volunteers and know CWE would not be the fantastic school it is without you!

Shelley, VIPS Coordinator

Record Volunteer Hours

A reminder if you have not had your background check completed, you will need to do that before volunteering on campus.  As we continue to have opportunities to serve at Commonwealth, we want to make sure everyone is being safe and following District guidelines. Your background check completed after July 1, 2021 is valid through June 30, 2022. It will take a few days to be processed. You won't want to let this stand in the way of being able to serve! Thank you to the many volunteers who have already completed this step!
