Kids Heart Challenge

Commonwealth Elementary will participate in our 25th annual “Kids Heart Challenge” sponsored by the American Heart Association. This is an optional fundraiser for CWE families, but always a fan favorite of our community since many of our family and friends have been impacted by heart disease. The purpose of this event is to have fun while promoting good health and learning about community service by raising money for the American Heart Association. Can you believe CWE has raised over $660,000 over the last twenty-five years? Wow!

Students will learn about Kids Heart Challenge during PE class this week. Families will have the opportunity to raise “life-saving donations” from January 9 through January 27th. This year students will “celebrate” during their PE class. We will celebrate on January 27th during outclass. 

The American Heart Association rewards students with thank you gifts for their efforts. The thank you gift order usually arrives before Spring Break and will be distributed to students during the school day when they arrive.

The company you work for may have a Matching Gifts Program. This is really cool because your company will match what your child raises. This doubles the donation and the thank you gifts. Please see their website for more information.
